Case Study 2: Distance Education

Many children in the inner city of Cleveland Ohio tend to do most of their everyday shopping in their own neighborhood.  Many of the children in the inner city enjoy field trips because visiting museum is a rarity and a special outing. It is a special treat to take a field trip the Cleveland Metro Park Zoo or the Science Center.  In the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, there are V-Stations used to teacher students at a distance.  It is cost effective to use the V-station to broadcast from the Cleveland Metro Park Zoo to the second-grade classroom at Benjamin Franklin School.

You are a technology liaison and your role is to prepare the teachers, students, and the V-station for the broadcast. Prepare a presentation by answering the following questions.
1.     Distinguish between one-way and two-way television based on their communication capabilities.

2.     Describe three functions performed by a classroom teacher in a distance education setting.
